Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Serves documentary and nostalgia projects needing 1970s suburban American lakefront leisure footage, with a Lynbrook, New York context and a residential summer scene.
Period detail: Visible mid-1970s indicators include a wood-paneled station wagon and a rooftop TV antenna; warm, slightly faded 8mm color palette is consistent with the stated 1976 date.
Home-movie behavior: A family member captured their own household's summer afternoon by the lake — unscripted, with subjects relaxed and unposed in lawn chairs.
What appears in frame: White wood-paneled station wagon, people in folding lawn chairs, a wooden dock, calm lake water, a white clapboard cottage with TV antenna, dense green deciduous trees, and a small boat.
Film character: Warm, slightly faded color saturation and gentle soft focus typical of consumer 8mm film from the mid-1970s give the footage a sun-soaked, nostalgic quality with natural grain.
Edit role: Works as an establishing or transitional pan shot in a 1970s American domestic or regional documentary, and the sweeping motion also suits a memory-beat montage sequence.
Historical context: The wood-paneled station wagon and lakefront backyard setup reflect middle-class suburban leisure culture in mid-1970s Long Island without asserting specific events.
Research note: Multiple adults appear visibly present and possibly identifiable; residential property is shown; likeness clearances and property permissions have not been verified and should be assessed before editorial use.
Research search match: Likely discovered via searches such as "1970s suburban summer", "Long Island lakefront home movie", "station wagon lake", or "8mm family leisure 1976".
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other Lynbrook, New York reel footage; then with 1970s Long Island or suburban New York home movies; then with lakefront or station wagon footage from the same decade.
