1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Stockfilm.com, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

2. Service Overview

Stockfilm provides access to archival content, catalog pages, editorial material, direct digital licensing tools, and links to third-party licensing marketplaces. Availability and content may change over time.

3. Licensing and Usage Rights

Licensing rights for footage and imagery are controlled by the applicable marketplace or agreement used at purchase. You are responsible for reviewing and complying with all license terms before use.

A direct license purchased on Stockfilm.com is royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and worldwide unless you choose a specific territory at checkout. It does not permit use of the footage, or any derivative of it, as training data for artificial intelligence or machine learning systems. AI and machine learning training rights are excluded from every license sold on this site and are available only under a separate written dataset agreement.

For direct Stockfilm purchases, digital delivery is described in our Digital Delivery Policy. Returns and refunds are described in our Returns & Refunds policy.

3a. Archival metadata, sanctions, and payment-processor policy

Stockfilm preserves historical footage with accurate archival metadata. Country names, locations, people, and events on clip pages are descriptive historical information only and do not indicate that Stockfilm provides services to, from, or within any restricted jurisdiction.

Stripe checkout is not available for clips with restricted-jurisdiction metadata. Licensing inquiries for such clips require manual review and may be declined where required by law, payment-processor policy, sanctions obligations, or compliance controls. 4. Intellectual Property

Site design, copy, branding, metadata, and original compilation elements are protected by intellectual property laws. Except where explicitly licensed, you may not reproduce, redistribute, or republish site content without permission.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the site for unlawful, fraudulent, or infringing activity.
• Attempt unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts.
• Interfere with performance, security, or normal operations.
• Automate scraping or extraction in violation of applicable law.

6. Third-Party Services

Stockfilm may link to third-party platforms, including licensing marketplaces and social networks. We do not control their content, terms, or data practices, and are not responsible for their services.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stockfilm is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from or related to site use, service interruptions, or third-party services.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Stockfilm harmless from claims, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your violation of these terms or misuse of the site.

10. Modifications

We may revise these terms at any time. Updated terms are effective when posted on this page. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

13. Stockfilm Research Desk

Research Desk provides archival search, approved research previews, source comparison, private research boards, timed edit plans and report preparation. It does not process purchases, issue licenses or quotes, deliver production masters, render films, identify people or establish third-party clearance. Existing website licensing remains a separate service.

Catalog assertions, recorded visual observations, user annotations and editorial interpretations have different evidentiary meanings. Dates, filming places, durations and source information may be incomplete or uncertain. A thumbnail supports observations of one frame; a metadata description does not show that a preview has been watched. Footage does not establish a person's motives, relationships or participation in a historical event without supporting provenance.

Only reviewed catalog material is exposed. The owner has confirmed publication permission for the current catalog under the documented Research Desk delivery model. An available thumbnail or watermarked preview does not by itself establish clearance for music, people, property, logos or other third-party rights. This report does not supply a production master or establish third-party clearance. Researchers remain responsible for reviewing the intended use and unresolved rights questions.

Where material is supplied as an App Response through an OpenAI product, the applicable OpenAI App Developer Terms and any rights granted under them govern that delivery. The general site restrictions in sections 3 and 4 do not narrow rights granted under those applicable platform terms. A watermark, research label or media link does not override those terms. Stockfilm's owner remains responsible for authority to provide the material. This section does not claim legal clearance or OpenAI approval.

You retain your rights in research notes and briefs you supply. You authorize us to process them to provide the requested research service and to retain explicitly saved boards under the privacy policy. Do not supply material you are not authorized to use, confidential personal information about other people or instructions to access another account. Saving or replacing a board is an explicit action. Concurrent edits may require reopening the latest version; deletion requires confirmation. Unsaved work and exported copies remain under your control.

Stockfilm may restrict access to material when permission, privacy, suitability or source accuracy requires review. Service interruptions and missing media are reported as such; substitute or synthetic footage is not presented as catalog footage. These Research Desk provisions became effective October 2, 2026.
