About 19,000 suburban clips, split between the 1950s and 1960s when the suburbs themselves were new. Much of the archive was filmed in a backyard or a driveway, so this is some of its most native material.
Ranch houses and fresh lawns, station wagons in the drive, kids on new sidewalks, block parties and barbecues. New York and California lead, almost all on 8mm and 16mm.

Suburban footage suits real-estate, lifestyle, and nostalgia campaigns, social-history documentaries, and period scenes that need a real postwar neighborhood rather than a backlot. The house-and-lawn wide and the driveway shot are the usual pulls.
The 1950s suburbs are brand-new and a little bare, the trees not grown in yet. The 1960s, the peak, fill out with families and color. The 1970s show maturing neighborhoods, bigger cars, and the first remodels.
