A Woman In A Blue Swimsuit Swims Through The Water — Clip Details

A woman in a blue swimsuit swims through water in this 1953 8mm home movie from Yonkers, New York. The footage captures her breaststroke technique with a strong blue color cast and grainy texture typical of vintage Super 8 film. Her dark hair flows as she moves through the water, creating ripples and splashes. The grainy, low-light quality and color distortion suggest an early home movie recording, offering a nostalgic glimpse of mid-century aquatic recreation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s home-movie requests needing a brief swimming or summer recreation insert from Yonkers, New York.
Period detail: The blue swimsuit, pool-like water, and 8mm home-movie color cast may show mid-century recreational swimming without identifiable landmarks.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer appears unstaged, moving through the water as a family or amateur camera records a casual recreation moment.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a blue swimsuit, dark hair, rippling blue water, splashes, film grain, and frame-edge exposure variation.
Film character: The clip has heavy blue color shift, soft focus, coarse grain, low-light exposure, and physical film texture from the scanned 8mm source.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, memory beat, or transition for summer, swimming, exercise, or mid-century leisure sequences.
Historical context: The footage gives a small visual note on private or local aquatic recreation in the early 1950s, limited to what the home-movie camera records.
Research note: A person is visible, so likeness review may be needed separately from copyright or source licensing; no brands or private property are visible in these frames.
