Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Yonkers home-movie pool footage suited to editorial requests for mid-century summer leisure, swimming, and family recreation scenes.
Period detail: The 8mm source, blue pool color, dark one-piece swimsuit, and overhead framing may show informal 1950s backyard or local pool recreation.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer appears unstaged, moving naturally through the water while the camera records from above in a brief home-movie observation.
What appears in frame: A swimmer in a dark swimsuit, blue pool water, floating dark hair, outstretched arms and legs, ripples, soft focus, and frame-edge shadows are visible.
Film character: The clip has dense blue color, visible grain, soft focus, motion blur, and slight exposure variation consistent with scanned 8mm home-movie film.
Edit role: Editors could use it as a short insert, summer-memory cutaway, recreation transition, or visual beat within a family, childhood, or leisure sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects private or community swimming recreation in a mid-century American home-movie context without identifying a specific pool or event.
Research note: People are visible and the swimmer may be a minor, so likeness and age review may be needed in addition to separate copyright clearance checks.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s 8mm swimming pool footage, Yonkers New York home movie, girl swimming, vintage summer recreation, and blue-tinted pool film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other Yonkers or 1953 home movies, then related 1950s swimming, summer recreation, and family leisure footage.
