Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Fits mid-century coastal leisure and Canadian tourism history requests; useful as a wide establishing shot in 1950s lifestyle documentaries or heritage productions.
Period detail: Organized rows of rental beach chairs and a substantial beachfront facility building suggest a managed public resort beach consistent with the stated 1952 date; no anachronistic elements are visible.
Home-movie behavior: Camera positioned at an elevated vantage — likely a pier railing or boardwalk — offers a surveying visitor's-eye view of the beach layout rather than a staged or intimate family moment.
What appears in frame: Wide sandy beach, rows of dark rental chairs in mid-ground, rectangular striped platform sections in foreground, low-rise beachfront building complex at the waterline, metal railing at the left edge, gentle wave action, and a hazy blue sky.
Film character: 8mm color film exhibits a pronounced blue-purple dye shift, visible grain throughout, and a dark vignette border at the frame edges consistent with amateur film scanning from the early 1950s.
Edit role: Works as a period establishing shot for coastal or resort sequences, or as a static cutaway illustrating organized mid-century beach leisure infrastructure.
Historical context: The organized beach furniture and large beachfront facility reflect managed public beach resort culture in postwar North America; specific location within Quebec is attributed by metadata but cannot be confirmed visually.
Research note: No identifiable individuals or logos are visible; the beachfront facility building may carry architectural copyright depending on current ownership and jurisdiction — verify before editorial publication.
Research search match: Researchers may find this via: 1950s Canadian beach footage, mid-century coastal leisure, vintage Quebec shore, organized beach rental infrastructure, 8mm color beach establishing shot.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other clips from the same Quebec 1952 reel; then with mid-century Canadian or North American coastal leisure footage; then with 1950s beach resort or tourism material of the same era.
