Man and Women in Period Dresses on Lawn — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1955, this vintage home movie captures a sunny day in a quiet Idaho residential neighborhood. A man in a white shirt and blue tie stands with three women dressed in period-appropriate attire—two in white dresses with hats and gloves, one in a blue and white striped dress. They stand on a grassy lawn in front of a modest house, with trees and a classic car visible in the background. The footage shows natural movement and interaction, with the women smiling and conversing, evoking a sense of mid-century Americana and family life.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Idaho home-movie footage for edits needing a brief residential family gathering or mid-century social scene.
Period detail: The clothing, hats, gloves, necktie, modest houses, and parked car may show mid-1950s everyday dress and suburban residential surroundings.
Home-movie behavior: The group stands casually on a lawn, smiling and shifting as if posing or conversing for a family camera rather than performing.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a man in a white shirt and blue tie, women in dresses and hats, gloves, clapboard houses, leafless trees, lawn, and a parked car.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing that preserve the texture of a family-shot reel.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transitional memory beat, or cutaway for mid-century family, neighborhood, or social-life sequences.
Historical context: The scene gives visual context for everyday white middle-class social presentation in a quiet Idaho residential setting, based on the supplied metadata and visible dress.
Research note: Faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, personal releases, and any property considerations should be checked separately.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s Idaho home movie, women in white dresses and gloves, man in tie on lawn, residential family gathering, and 8mm Americana.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with 1955 Idaho residential footage, then with related mid-century family gathering or neighborhood scenes.
