New York-1947: Female Officers In Navy Blue Uniforms Walking In File

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for 1940s documentary edits needing women in U.S. Navy-style uniforms moving in formation in archival home-movie footage.

Period detail

The dark uniforms, light blue shirts, hat insignia, vintage cars, and open paved lot support a late-1940s military or service setting in New York.

Home-movie behavior

The women smile and pass close to the camera in a relaxed, unstaged file, giving the clip personal immediacy beyond a formal parade view.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include uniformed women, dark service hats, light blue shirts, collar insignia, red lipstick, parked cars, a paved lot, and low buildings.

Film character

The 8mm color scan has soft focus shifts, visible grain, rounded frame edges, and handheld framing that emphasize its physical home-movie origin.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a brief insert, cutaway, or transition for women in uniform, postwar service life, or mid-century institutional scenes.

Historical context

The clip visually places women in uniformed public service within a mid-century American setting without confirming unit, event, or assignment from the frames alone.

Research note

Faces and uniform insignia are visible, so copyright, likeness, and possible insignia or institutional identification should be reviewed separately.
