Women In Black Uniforms Marching In Formation In Large... — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1947: A group of women in matching black uniforms and hats march in formation across a large parking lot. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures their synchronized movement in front of a large institutional building with vintage cars parked nearby. The women wear dark coats, skirts, and gloves, with light-colored collars and ties visible. The scene has a distinct mid-century aesthetic with natural lighting and the characteristic grain of Super 8 home movie footage. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1940s New York home-movie footage of uniformed women marching in an institutional outdoor setting for documentary or period context.
Period detail: The dark tailored uniforms, brimmed hats, gloves, light collars, and parked mid-century cars support a postwar 1940s setting without identifying the organization.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes the women from a spectator distance as they pass and regroup, giving the scene the informal value of someone recording a public drill or ceremony.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include uniformed women, brimmed hats, gloves, skirts, a large paved lot, parked vintage cars, an institutional building, and distant trees.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and contact-sheet framing that preserve the texture of original home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, or cutaway for organized women's service groups, postwar civic activity, or period movement in public space.
Historical context: The footage may show women participating in a formal drill, service corps activity, or civic formation, but the frames do not identify the group or event.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright, personality, and property issues should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Search matches include 1940s New York women marching, 8mm uniformed women formation, postwar women's service group footage, and vintage parking lot drill.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other New York 1947 outdoor scenes, then broader 1940s women-in-uniform or civic-formation material.
