Line Of Women Marching In Historical Footage — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1947: A line of young women in dark uniforms and hats march in formation outdoors. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures their serious expressions and synchronized movement against a backdrop of vintage cars and a cloudy sky. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1940s New York documentary or education requests needing color home-movie footage of uniformed young women marching outdoors.
Period detail: The dark uniforms, brimmed hats, parked vintage cars, and soft color 8mm look point to a late-1940s public or organized gathering.
Home-movie behavior: The camera watches the line pass close by, preserving candid facial expressions and small timing variations within the formation.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include uniformed women, dark hats, blue collars, an open paved area, parked cars, cloudy sky, and distant bare trees.
Film character: The clip has soft focus, visible grain, slight blur from movement, muted color, and handheld framing typical of scanned 8mm home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, or memory beat for women in uniform, postwar civic life, or organized public movement.
Historical context: The footage shows young women moving in formation in a public outdoor setting, suggesting organized participation without identifying the group or event.
Research note: Faces are visible, so likeness and context review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright status should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1940s New York women marching, 8mm uniformed women, vintage female formation, and postwar home-movie footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with New York 1947 material, then with 1940s uniforms, women marching, or civic gathering themes.
