Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s domestic leisure requests needing brief home-movie footage of a woman swimming in a backyard pool for documentary, museum, education, or editorial use.
Period detail: The white swim cap, patterned one-piece suit, pool setting, and 8mm color home-movie texture support a mid-1950s domestic recreation reading.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged private recreation moment, with the swimmer moving naturally through the water rather than posing for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman swimmer, white swim cap, dark patterned swimsuit, blue pool water, splashing water, close framing, and 8mm frame edges.
Film character: The footage has visible grain, soft focus, mild color fading, exposure variation, and contact-sheet frame borders consistent with scanned 8mm home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, summer-memory cutaway, domestic recreation beat, or transition within a sequence about mid-century family leisure.
Historical context: The scene reflects private pool recreation in a Yonkers home-movie context without enough visible detail to identify the household or exact property.
Research note: A visible adult face and likeness require review, while copyright, likeness, and any property considerations should be evaluated separately before use.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1950s woman swimming pool 8mm, Yonkers New York home movie swimmer, vintage backyard pool footage, and mid-century summer recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1953 Yonkers material, then broader 1950s pool, swimming, and summer leisure footage.
