Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s 8mm home-movie pool footage for productions needing a brief recreational swimming insert or summer leisure memory beat.
Period detail: The metadata places the clip in Yonkers, New York in 1953, while the frames themselves mainly show blue pool water and a partially visible swimmer.
Home-movie behavior: The scene has an unstaged home-movie quality, observing a swimmer moving casually through the water from close range.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue pool water, a swimmer's partially submerged body, soft water ripples, film-frame borders, dust specks, and color-shifted exposure.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows saturated blue color, soft focus, visible grain, dust marks, and slight exposure variation consistent with mid-century home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, transitional summer beat, or personal-memory insert within a leisure, family, or recreation sequence.
Historical context: The footage reflects private mid-century recreational swimming, though the frames do not identify a specific pool, facility, or public event.
Research note: A person is visible but not clearly identifiable in these frames; likeness review may still be needed, separate from copyright and any location permissions.

Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel family or pool scenes, then other Yonkers 1953 footage, then broader 1950s summer swimming and recreation material.
