Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Yonkers home-movie pool footage suited to archival requests for mid-century recreation, swimming, exercise, or domestic leisure inserts.
Period detail: The swim cap, one-piece swimsuit, pool setting, and 8mm color home-movie texture support a 1953 mid-century leisure context without visible landmarks.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged private recreation moment as a woman swims, treads water, and moves through a pool for the home camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue pool water, a woman swimmer, a white swim cap, dark swimsuit straps, ripples, splashes, pool edge, and film-frame borders.
Film character: The footage has soft focus, blue color shift, visible grain, uneven exposure, and handheld 8mm framing that give it authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, memory beat, or transition for sequences about swimming, exercise, summer leisure, or family recreation.
Historical context: The scene shows personal pool recreation in a mid-century American home-movie context, with emphasis on movement and water rather than identifiable location detail.
Research note: A woman is visible and may require likeness review; no logos or brands are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate from likeness or property concerns.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1953 8mm Yonkers swimming pool footage, 1950s woman swimmer home movie, vintage swim cap, pool exercise, and mid-century leisure.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1953 Yonkers home movies, then broader 1950s swimming, summer recreation, or exercise footage.
