Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1950s home-movie footage of recreational swimming, women's pool exercise, or mid-century leisure in Yonkers, New York.
Period detail: The dark one-piece bathing suit, outdoor pool setting, and 8mm color rendering support a mid-century home-movie context, with 1953 supplied by clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer appears casually filmed during lap swimming, giving the scene an unstaged record of personal recreation rather than organized competition.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a dark swimsuit, blue pool water, splashing arms and legs, pool edge, contact-print borders, and heavy film grain.
Film character: The footage has saturated blue color, soft focus, visible grain, exposure fluctuation, and contact-sheet framing typical of scanned 8mm home movies.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief leisure insert, exercise cutaway, poolside memory beat, or transition within a sequence about summer recreation.
Historical context: The clip shows private recreational swimming as part of everyday mid-century American leisure, without visible team markings, spectators, or public-event context.
Research note: A visible adult swimmer may require likeness review, while no logos, minors, or obvious private-property identifiers are visible in these frames.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1950s 8mm woman swimming laps, Yonkers New York pool home movie, vintage one-piece swimsuit, or mid-century recreation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other 1953 Yonkers material, then broader pool, summer leisure, and women's recreation footage.
