Kansas USA-1958: Frozen Man Placing Jacket Into Classic Car In Snowy Rural Scene

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for mid-century American rural life documentaries or 1950s winter sequences needing authentic 8mm home-movie atmosphere on a working farmstead.

Period detail

The large rounded-body American sedan, heavy winter clothing, and red farmstead barn are visually consistent with rural mid-century United States, likely late 1940s to late 1950s.

Home-movie behavior

The unstaged, routine action of loading a vehicle outside a farmstead barn captures the ordinary rhythm of winter farm life as recorded by an amateur cinematographer.

What appears in frame

Adult figure in winter hat and coat, large dark American sedan with open door, second vehicle partially visible at frame edge, red barn with light roof, snow-dusted ground, overcast grey sky.

Film character

Moderate 8mm grain, slight colour desaturation toward grey-blue tones, and soft focus give the footage an authentic mid-century home-movie patina rather than a production aesthetic.

Edit role

Works as a period-establishing insert or cutaway in documentary sequences on rural American life, postwar farm culture, or everyday winter travel in the 1950s.

Historical context

The farmstead setting and postwar American sedan style are consistent with rural Kansas, where family farms and automobile culture intersected in ordinary domestic life.

Research note

One or more adult figures are visible and may be identifiable; editorial use requires likeness-rights assessment, as no model release accompanies this archival home-movie material.
