Idaho USA-1955: Women In Blue Dresses And Nursing Caps Walking Near Classic Cars

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Serves 1950s American social history requests for nursing, mid-century street life, and women's professional roles, suited to documentary, educational, or period drama production.

Period detail

Two women in white nursing caps and blue uniforms, a man with a hand-held film camera, and a large two-tone mid-1950s American sedan with visible chrome badging anchor the footage in mid-century America.

Home-movie behavior

The filmer-caught-in-frame moment, a man visible mid-shot holding his own camera, reveals the self-reflexive, casual documentary impulse typical of amateur 8mm home movie making.

What appears in frame

Two women in blue nursing uniforms and white caps on a sidewalk, a dark-suited man with a hand camera, a two-tone blue mid-1950s sedan, bare deciduous trees, brick building wall, and additional period cars.

Film character

The footage shows characteristic 8mm color shift toward cool blue-green tones, soft grain throughout, and slight handheld unsteadiness that reads as authentic mid-century amateur film stock.

Edit role

Works as an establishing insert or social-context cutaway in documentary segments on 1950s healthcare, women's working roles, or small-town American street life.

Historical context

Nursing caps and blue uniforms suggest a mid-century hospital or nursing school context; period vehicles and a bare-treed suburban streetscape are consistent with a Northern US setting in the mid-1950s.

Research note

Adult faces are clearly identifiable in multiple frames; nursing uniforms may imply institutional affiliation; a vehicle badge appears on-screen, so producer should assess likeness rights and any institutional logo clearance.
