Boat Ride With The Cowboy On The Clear Water Lake — Clip Details

A man in a straw cowboy hat and sunglasses rides in a boat on a clear lake in Utah, 1969. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures him wearing a life jacket as the boat moves across shimmering water. The sun reflects off the surface, creating a sparkling effect. The grainy, slightly faded color palette and soft focus evoke a nostalgic, home movie feel. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s Utah home-movie boating footage for documentary or museum edits needing a leisure travel moment on open water.
Period detail: The straw cowboy hat, sunglasses, life jacket, and faded 8mm color may show late-1960s casual lake recreation.
Home-movie behavior: The subject appears relaxed and unposed as the camera rides close beside him in the moving boat.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a straw cowboy hat, dark sunglasses, life jacket straps, boat seating, rippling water, sun glare, and dark film frame edges.
Film character: The clip has grainy 8mm texture, soft focus, deep shadows, blue-purple color shift, and bright water highlights from the original film scan.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief insert, travel cutaway, or memory beat between wider lake or road-trip scenes.
Historical context: The footage reflects private leisure travel in Utah, with attention on boating, sunlit water, and a casually dressed adult passenger.
Research note: A visible adult may require likeness review, while copyright, location, and any property rights should be checked separately.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1969 Utah 8mm boat ride, cowboy hat on lake, vintage home movie boating, or clear water lake footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel boating scenes, then other Utah 1969 footage, then broader 1960s lake recreation or home-movie travel clips.
