Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Idaho home-movie footage for productions needing a winter recreation insert, family outing moment, or rural frozen-pond scene.
Period detail: The winter coats, simple outdoor skating setting, and 8mm home-movie framing support a mid-1950s family or vacation record without identifying a specific town.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged movement of people cautiously crossing and skating on the ice, followed by a brief intimate car-window moment.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include skaters on a frozen pond, dark treeline, low hills, cloudy sky, ice reflections, a small dog-like figure, car glass, and a close face.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm grain, blue-purple color shift, heavy gate borders, exposure flare, and handheld framing that read as original home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a winter recreation cutaway, travel-memory beat, family-history insert, or transition between outdoor activity and road-trip footage.
Historical context: The scene reflects casual mid-century leisure filmed by a family camera, with outdoor winter recreation shown more as personal record than public event.
Research note: People and at least one face are visible, so likeness review may be needed separately from copyright, though no logos or clear private property appear.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s Idaho ice skating home movie, 8mm frozen pond family outing, vintage winter recreation, and rural skating footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Idaho 1955 footage, then broader 1950s winter leisure or family road-trip material.
