Idaho-1955: Three People Skating On Frozen Lake On A Clear Day

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Supports 1950s Idaho home-movie requests for winter recreation, outdoor leisure, skating, and personal memory sequences in documentary or editorial productions.

Period detail

The heavy coats, simple skates, 8mm color stock, and lakeside rural setting may show mid-century family recreation without identifying a specific town or lake.

Home-movie behavior

The clip preserves unstaged companions posing, crouching, and skating away across the ice in the casual rhythm of a home movie.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include three skaters, a frozen lake, dark coats, pale winter sky, wooded hills, shoreline, ice reflections, and a parked vehicle in the distance.

Film character

The footage has soft 8mm grain, slight color shift, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that create useful archival texture.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a winter recreation insert, a family-memory cutaway, or a quiet transition into mid-century outdoor life.

Historical context

The scene suggests informal cold-weather leisure on a frozen Idaho lake, with people dressed for winter and using the open ice as shared recreation space.

Research note

People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright status should be checked separately.
