Woman Rising From Snow-Covered Ice And Man Probing... — Clip Details

WISCONSIN-1957: A woman in a white winter coat and a red plaid headscarf rises from a snow-covered frozen lake, her movements captured in grainy 8mm film. She bends down, then stands, surveying the icy expanse. A man in a dark coat and yellow hat appears, using a tool to probe the ice near a small pole. The scene unfolds on a vast, snow-blanketed lake under an overcast sky, with a distant treeline visible. The footage shows natural film grain, slight motion blur, and authentic vintage color tones, evoking a sense of quiet winter activity and nostalgia.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s Wisconsin winter-life requests needing home-movie footage of people on a frozen lake for documentary, museum, education, or editorial sequences.
Period detail: The clothing, 8mm color stock, and metadata-supported 1957 date place the scene in midcentury Wisconsin, though the exact lake is not identified in the frames.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual, unstaged action as a woman rises from the snow-covered ice and a man probes the frozen surface nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a white coat and red plaid headscarf, a man in a dark coat and yellow hat, frozen lake ice, snow, a small pole, distant shoreline, and low hills.
Film character: The clip has a grainy 8mm home-movie texture with soft focus, mild motion blur, exposure variation, and visible frame-edge contact-sheet artifacts.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a winter cutaway, regional memory beat, transition into lake recreation or ice-safety material, or a quiet insert of everyday cold-weather activity.
Historical context: The footage visually documents ordinary outdoor winter activity on a frozen Wisconsin lake without supporting claims about a specific event, community, or named location.
Research note: People are visible and may require likeness review; no logos, private property, or music are indicated, but copyright and personality rights should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1957 Wisconsin frozen lake home movie, 1950s winter ice activity, 8mm people on snow-covered lake, and man probing ice footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with other 1957 Wisconsin winter footage, then with broader frozen-lake, snow, and midcentury home-movie scenes.
