Woman Ice Fishing On Frozen Lake With Rod — Clip Details

A woman in a heavy green winter coat and hood walks across a frozen lake in Wisconsin during the 1957 winter. She approaches a small wooden shed on the ice, with a vintage car visible in the background and a forested hillside beyond. The scene captures a quiet, cold day of ice fishing, with the woman later seen lowering a fishing rod into a hole in the ice. Shot on 8mm film, the footage displays natural grain, slight color fading, and a nostalgic, authentic home movie feel.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Wisconsin home-movie footage for documentary or editorial needs showing winter recreation, ice fishing, and everyday cold-weather leisure on a frozen lake.
Period detail: The heavy winter coat, simple wooden ice-fishing shelter, vintage car, and 8mm color stock support a late-1950s home-movie setting in Wisconsin.
Home-movie behavior: The woman walks toward the camera and later tends a fishing hole, giving the clip an unstaged family-film view of routine winter activity.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a bundled woman, frozen lake surface, ice-fishing hole, short rod or line, small wooden shed, distant car, wooded hillside, and snow-covered shoreline.
Film character: The footage has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, slight color fading, handheld framing, and exposure shifts that read as authentic physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a winter recreation insert, a rural Midwest cutaway, or a quiet memory beat between broader 1950s domestic scenes.
Historical context: The scene reflects midcentury outdoor leisure and practical cold-weather dress without making claims beyond the visible ice-fishing activity.
Research note: A recognizable adult face is visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate from personal or property rights.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s Wisconsin ice fishing, woman on frozen lake, vintage 8mm winter home movie, and midcentury outdoor recreation footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then Wisconsin 1957 winter footage, then broader 1950s ice fishing or frozen lake home-movie scenes.
