Images Of Houses In Front Of A Lake — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage home movie captures a modern stone house with large glass windows overlooking a calm lake in Izmir, Turkey. The footage, viewed through a dark frame, shows people moving near the entrance and on the balcony, with a hazy sky above. The grainy, slightly faded color palette and subtle camera movement evoke a nostalgic, personal memory of a lakeside retreat from the early 1960s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1962 Izmir home-movie footage suited to requests for lakeside housing, modern domestic architecture, or quiet establishing cutaways in mid-century Turkey.
Period detail: The stone facade, broad glass windows, balcony rail, and faded 8mm color may show early 1960s leisure or residential design near water.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes from a partially blocked vantage as people move near the doorway and balcony, giving the scene an unstaged home-movie perspective.
What appears in frame: Visible details include a stone house, dark window openings, glass-walled balcony, terrace railings, distant lake, hazy sky, shrubs, and small figures near the entrance.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm grain, slight color fading, exposure variation, dark frame edges, and gentle handheld instability that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short exterior insert, memory beat, or transitional cutaway for lakeside domestic life in 1960s Izmir.
Historical context: The view documents a modern-looking waterside dwelling and casual human presence without enough visual evidence to identify the property or exact neighborhood.
Research note: People and a recognizable residence appear, so copyright, likeness, and property considerations should be reviewed separately before publication or commercial use.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1962 Izmir 8mm home movie, Turkey lakeside house footage, mid-century stone house by water, and vintage balcony exterior.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with 1962 Izmir material, and then with broader lakeside housing or Turkish home-movie themes.
