A Three-Tiered Yellow Cake Celebrates a Family Moment — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie clip from 1958 in Saint Francis, Kansas, captures a three-tiered yellow cake adorned with floral decorations and a central topper, likely for a celebration. The cake sits on a table beside a red box labeled 'Fruit Cake,' with a dark, dimly lit indoor setting and visible film grain. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s home-movie requests needing a domestic celebration detail, food-table cutaway, or family memory insert from Saint Francis, Kansas.
Period detail: The tiered decorated cake, boxed fruit cake, dim indoor table setting, and color 8mm texture support a late-1950s home celebration context.
Home-movie behavior: The camera lingers on the cake rather than people, preserving the family habit of filming a prepared celebration object before or during a gathering.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a three-tier yellow cake, floral topper, small decorations, table surface, red fruit-cake box, dark background, and soft window or wall shapes.
Film character: The clip has dense 8mm grain, dim exposure, soft focus, color shifts, and slight handheld instability that read as original home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short cutaway, memory beat, transition into a family celebration, or visual insert for mid-century domestic food traditions.
Historical context: The footage may show a private family celebration where a decorated cake served as the visual centerpiece, without visible guests or identifiable participants.
Research note: Human review should note the visible packaged fruit-cake box and any label marks; no people are visible, but copyright and product-identification issues remain separate.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1958 Kansas home movie cake, 1950s family celebration footage, vintage 8mm decorated cake, and mid-century domestic food table.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then Saint Francis or 1958 Kansas material, then broader family celebration, birthday, wedding, or holiday cake footage.
