Wind-Blown Grass Field with Shadow — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this vintage home movie captures a wind-blown field of tall grass under a hazy sky. The camera remains mostly static, focusing on the natural movement of the grass swaying in the breeze, creating a wavy, textured pattern across the frame. A dark shadow appears in the lower corner, possibly a person or object, adding a subtle human element to the natural scene. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color shifts, and soft focus, evoking a nostalgic, archival feel. This raw, unedited clip offers authentic 1960s outdoor ambiance, ideal for documentaries, period pieces, or nostalgic content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s Yellowstone-area 8mm nature footage suited to requests for atmospheric field, grassland, wind, or quiet landscape cutaways.
Period detail: The frames may show a 1967 home-movie view of pale grasses or ground texture, with no visible structures, clothing, vehicles, or landmarks to independently date the scene.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged visitor-shot pause on natural movement and texture rather than a composed scenic landmark view.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include soft pale grass or ground cover, wind-shaped texture, hazy exposure, dark corner shadow, film grain, and slight color shift.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, muted blue-violet color drift, and uneven exposure that read as physical-film archive texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, transition, ambient memory beat, or natural texture insert within a 1960s travel or landscape sequence.
Historical context: As home-movie material from Yellowstone, Wyoming, it suggests mid-century recreational observation of open natural terrain without making specific claims about site or event.
Research note: No people, logos, brands, or private property are visible in these frames, though copyright and location-use questions should still be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1967 Yellowstone 8mm grass field, wind-blown grass home movie, 1960s Wyoming landscape texture, and vintage nature cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1967 Yellowstone or Wyoming footage, then broader 1960s nature and grassland home-movie material.
