People March In The Parade While Carrying Flags At — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm film clip from Cheyenne County, Kansas, in 1958 captures a small-town parade. The footage shows a decorated float with a large sign reading 'ALTA VISTA PRODUCE' and red, white, and blue ribbons, carrying sheep. The scene transitions to a street view where men march in formation, carrying the American flag and other banners. Classic American cars from the late 1950s line the road, and the warm, slightly faded colors and film grain evoke a nostalgic, authentic mid-century Americana feel. This archival home movie footage is ideal for documentaries, historical projects, and nostalgic content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1950s small-town Americana, county parade, and community procession requests for documentary, museum, education, or editorial productions.
Period detail: Visible clues include late-1950s cars, patriotic bunting, handheld 8mm color, a produce float, and men marching with flags in a small-town street setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an observer's curbside view, holding on parade participants and floats as they pass without staged interaction for the camera.
What appears in frame: The frames show an Alta Vista Produce float with sheep, red-white-blue decorations, men carrying flags, spectators, parked mid-century cars, storefronts, and a tree-lined street.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm grain, slight blur, faded color, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that reads as original home-movie documentation.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for rural Kansas, patriotic parades, county events, or mid-century civic life.
Historical context: The scene documents a public parade setting where local business display, livestock, patriotic symbols, and street spectators appear together in community space.
Research note: People and a visible business name appear, so likeness, trademark, and contextual use should be reviewed separately from any film copyright assessment.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1958 Kansas parade 8mm, Cheyenne County home movie, small-town patriotic procession, Alta Vista Produce float, and 1950s street parade.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other Cheyenne County 1958 scenes, then broader 1950s parade, flag procession, and small-town Americana material.
