Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1940s home-movie footage for productions needing domestic recreation, women in leisure activities, or small-town Pennsylvania backyard life.
Period detail: The dress, shoes, modest lawn, and brick house setting may show mid-1940s domestic leisure details consistent with the 1946 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The woman appears to practice golf informally in a yard, giving the clip an unstaged family-camera view of everyday recreation.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman with a golf club, skirt and light top, small lawn, brick house, porch steps, windows, and garden edging.
Film character: Black-and-white 8mm footage shows soft focus, visible grain, rounded frame edges, and slight exposure variation typical of original home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, memory beat, or transition for mid-century leisure, domestic sports, or family-life sequences.
Historical context: The clip documents a woman taking part in casual recreation at home, framed within a residential yard rather than a formal golf course.
Research note: A visible adult face and residential exterior warrant likeness and property review; copyright and physical-film ownership do not by themselves clear these rights.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1946 8mm home movie woman golfing, New Cumberland Pennsylvania backyard recreation, and 1940s domestic leisure footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then other New Cumberland 1946 material, then broader 1940s home-recreation or women’s sports footage.
