Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s home-front or postwar-era residential-life requests needing an unstaged young woman walking outdoors in Pennsylvania home-movie footage.
Period detail: The dress silhouette, bare trees, older detached houses, and 8mm home-movie handling support a mid-1940s residential setting, consistent with the 1946 New Cumberland metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The subject appears aware of the camera while walking toward it and carrying a long stick or golf club, giving the shot a casual family-film performance quality.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young woman, a light blouse and dress, a long stick or golf club, lawn, sidewalks, leafless trees, and large residential houses.
Film character: The clip has visible 8mm grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, slight vignetting, and handheld framing that read as authentic scanned home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, memory beat, or transition for 1940s youth, neighborhood life, leisure, or family-film atmosphere.
Historical context: The footage shows a residential street or yard scene in New Cumberland, with a young woman moving through an outdoor neighborhood space rather than a formal public event.
Research note: A face and residential exteriors are visible, so likeness and property-context review may be needed separate from any copyright or source-license assessment.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1946 New Cumberland home movie, 1940s Pennsylvania neighborhood, young woman walking outdoors, 8mm residential footage, and golf stick home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with other 1946 New Cumberland footage, then with 1940s neighborhood, youth, walking, or leisure home movies.
