Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s California leisure requests needing brief home-movie poolside recreation footage for documentary, museum, education, or period lifestyle edits.
Period detail: The metal pool railing, striped patio umbrella, wooden lounge chair, lawn, and light summer clothing may show mid-century private recreation style.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual, unstaged poolside moment, with one person standing near the water while another rests under an umbrella.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimming pool, metal railings, lawn, tall trees, striped umbrella, lounge chair, standing figure, seated or reclining figure, and a distant house.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, muted warm color, and a contact-print feel that reads as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, or cutaway for sunny recreation, family leisure, California living, or poolside atmosphere.
Historical context: The clip offers a quiet view of postwar-era domestic leisure without enough visible evidence to identify the people, property, or occasion.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness review may be needed; copyright, location, and property considerations should be assessed separately before use.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1949 8mm Santa Cruz pool footage, 1940s California home movie, vintage poolside leisure, striped umbrella, and sunny recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with Santa Cruz 1949 material, then with broader 1940s pool, summer leisure, and California home-movie scenes.
