Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for documentary or educational edits needing late-1970s high school football footage from Ithaca, New York, with real game action on artificial turf.
Period detail: The uniforms, grainy 8mm color, sideline arrangement, and green artificial turf may show a late-1970s school sports setting.
Home-movie behavior: The elevated handheld view follows the play from the stands, preserving the informal attention of a spectator filming live action rather than staged coverage.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include red and white football uniforms, a green marked field, line-of-scrimmage action, a tackle, downfield running, sideline figures, and soft stadium distance.
Film character: The clip has a soft 8mm home-movie texture with visible grain, slight color fade, handheld drift, and motion blur during fast football action.
Edit role: An editor could use it as an insert, memory beat, sports cutaway, or transition into a sequence about school athletics, local recreation, or 1970s youth culture.
Historical context: The footage documents organized American football as seen from a spectator perspective, with team play and sideline presence visible but no confirmed school names or event details.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may be needed; no clear logos or private property are visible, and copyright clearance is separate from depicted-person issues.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1970s 8mm high school football, Ithaca New York football game, vintage artificial turf sports footage, and home movie football play.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other footage from the same reel, then with Ithaca or 1979 school-sports material, then with broader vintage football and student athletics scenes.
