Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1930s recreation, Canadian lake swimming, and home-movie leisure sequences needing authentic summer shoreline footage.
Period detail: The swim cap, one-piece bathing suit, wooden dock, and black-and-white 8mm look support a late-1930s recreational setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves casual, unstaged movement as one woman steps from a dock into shallow water while another swims nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two young women, swim cap, one-piece swimsuit, wooden dock, lake water, shoreline trees, ripples, and film-frame edges.
Film character: The footage has grainy black-and-white 8mm texture, soft contrast, slight gate framing, and handheld home-movie timing.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief summer memory beat, leisure cutaway, or transition within a sequence on lakeside recreation.
Historical context: The scene shows informal outdoor swimming and lakeside leisure in a home-movie context, without signs of organized sport or public event.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness and privacy review may be needed even where copyright status or licensing is separately addressed.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1930s 8mm lake swimming, Long Lake Canada home movies, vintage bathing suit footage, and women at a dock.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel summer scenes, then other Long Lake 1939 footage, then broader 1930s swimming or Canadian vacation material.
