Unidentified Uniformed Women On Parade Ground — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1947: A group of unidentified women in dark blue service uniforms and hats stand and walk on a paved parade ground or parking lot. The 8mm film captures them in formation, some smiling at the camera, with a brick building and utility poles in the background. The footage shows natural movement and slight camera shake, characteristic of a home movie from the late 1940s, with faded colors and film grain adding to its vintage charm.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for productions seeking late-1940s New York home-movie footage of unidentified uniformed women gathered on a paved parade ground or parking area.
Period detail: The dark service-style uniforms, structured hats, paved open ground, brick building, and utility poles may show a postwar institutional or service setting in 1947 New York.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an informal camera-side moment as uniformed women stand, walk, turn, and smile toward the person filming.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include dark blue uniforms, service hats, women in formation, a paved lot, a brick building, utility poles, open sky, and handheld framing.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, faded color, visible grain, gate edges, and slight handheld shake that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transitional memory beat, or cutaway for civilian service, uniforms, or organized public gathering themes.
Historical context: The footage visually suggests a formal group setting for women in uniform without identifying the organization, event, or exact site beyond the supplied New York metadata.
Research note: Faces are visible and the women are unidentified, so likeness and contextual use should be reviewed separately from any copyright assessment.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1947 New York 8mm uniformed women, postwar service women home movie, parade ground formation, and women in dark blue uniforms.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with New York 1947 material, and then with broader home-movie footage of uniforms, parades, and service groups.
