Women In Blue Uniforms And Hats March And Stand In Formation — Clip Details

NEW YORK-1947: A group of women in matching dark blue uniforms and hats march in formation across an open lot, their synchronized steps captured on vintage 8mm film. The women wear identical coats with gold buttons and blue collars, their expressions focused as they move in unison. The footage, shot on 8mm film, shows slight motion blur and film grain, with a background of parked cars and distant buildings under a pale sky. The sequence concludes with the women standing in a neat line, posing for the camera. This authentic 1940s home movie captures a moment of organized service and camaraderie, ideal for historical documentaries, archival projects, or nostalgic content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s New York archival requests needing women in uniform, organized service groups, marching formation, or posed home-movie footage.
Period detail: The dark coats, brimmed hats, gold buttons, blue collars, and parked mid-century cars support a late-1940s setting without identifying a specific organization.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an informal home-movie perspective as the women march past and then gather into a posed line for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include uniformed women, dark hats, blue collars, gold buttons, an open paved lot, parked cars, distant buildings, and pale sky.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, handheld framing, visible grain, exposure variation, and slight motion blur that give the scene archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for women in wartime-era or postwar civic service imagery.
Historical context: The footage visually suggests a disciplined women’s group in public formation, but the frames do not identify the organization or occasion.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed in addition to copyright status; no logos or private property are evident in the frames.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1940s 8mm women in uniform, New York home movie service group, women marching formation, and postwar civic group footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then other 1947 New York scenes, then broader clips of uniformed women, civic groups, or formations.
