Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s Quebec travel, recreation, and home-movie sequences needing small-boat leisure footage with visible adults and lake scenery.
Period detail: The men's jackets, hat, eyeglasses, and color 8mm home-movie look support a mid-1940s leisure setting, with the year and Quebec location supplied by clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The scene has an unstaged home-movie feel as adults sit close together on a small boat while the camera drifts between faces, water, and shoreline.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include adult men, a light-colored hat, eyeglasses, leather and wool jackets, blue lake water, boat seating, distant wooded shoreline, and lakeside buildings.
Film character: The clip shows handheld 8mm color texture with soft focus, visible grain, exposure variation, and frame-edge artifacts that signal original physical-film capture.
Edit role: Editors could use this as a brief insert, travel-memory beat, recreation cutaway, or transition between wider Quebec lake and personal vacation material.
Historical context: The footage documents informal mid-century boating recreation, emphasizing social travel and lakefront leisure rather than a staged event or identifiable landmark.
Research note: Adult faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright status should be assessed separately from personality rights.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1940s Quebec boating home movie, 8mm lake travel footage, vintage friends on boat, and mid-century Canadian recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then other Quebec 1946 lake or travel scenes, then broader 1940s boating, vacation, and outdoor recreation footage.
