Two Men on Blue Motorized Boat — Clip Details

QUEBEC CANADA-1946: Two men in brown leather jackets sit on a blue motorized boat, navigating calm waters. The footage captures a close-up of the boat's blue engine control panel with gauges and a key, followed by a hand operating the throttle. The men converse as the boat moves, with the shoreline visible in the background. Shot on 8mm film, this vintage home movie captures a moment of mid-century boating recreation with authentic film grain and color saturation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s Quebec home-movie requests needing brief recreational boating, men in conversation, and small motorboat details for documentary or educational edits.
Period detail: The leather jackets, blue painted boat controls, analog gauges, and 8mm color stock support a mid-1940s leisure-boating setting, with the 1946 Quebec date supplied by metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged passenger perspective as men sit and talk while the boat moves across open water near a shoreline.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a blue control panel with gauges and key, a hand at the throttle, two seated men, brown leather jackets, boat railing, blue water, wake, and distant shoreline.
Film character: The footage has saturated 8mm color, soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing that give it authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, transport cutaway, recreation transition, or memory beat within a sequence about mid-century travel or boating.
Historical context: The scene shows leisure travel by small motorized boat in Quebec, with adult passengers filmed casually rather than as a staged public event.
Research note: People and a possible brand or maker marking on the boat controls are visible, so likeness, trademark, and copyright review should be considered separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1946 Quebec 8mm boating footage, vintage motorboat passengers, men talking on boat, home movie lake travel, and mid-century recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1946 Quebec footage, then broader vintage boating, travel, and waterfront recreation material.
