Circus Parade With Performers In Feathered Costumes — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1948, this vintage footage captures a lively circus parade at the Ringling Brothers circus in Sarasota, Florida. Performers in elaborate white and blue costumes with large feathered wings march past a red train car marked '59'. A horse-drawn float with a large white bird figure moves through the scene, while other performers in green and white checkered outfits walk nearby. The clip shows the bustling atmosphere of a classic American circus, with a large tent visible in the background and a man in a hat observing the procession. The film exhibits natural grain and slight color fading typical of 8mm home movies from the era.

Period detail: Visible clues include feathered performer costumes, a large canvas circus tent, horse-drawn parade elements, uniformed walkers, and a red rail car marked 59.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has a visitor-shot viewpoint, catching performers, horses, and floats as they pass close to the camera rather than staging a formal record.

Film character: The clip carries 8mm home-movie texture with soft focus, handheld framing, visible grain, color fading, and occasional motion blur from passing parade action.
