Camden New Jersey USA-1964: Man Aiming Rifle In Grass Field

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

A 5-second 8mm color clip of a man shooting a rifle outdoors suits documentary sequences on mid-century American leisure, rural life, or gun culture, particularly for 1960s period programming.

Period detail

Light blue t-shirt, dark short hair, and casual trousers visible on the subject; the style and informal setting appear consistent with early-to-mid 1960s American recreational casual wear.

Home-movie behavior

The cameraperson repositions around the subject between shots, shifting from a crouching behind-the-subject angle to a standing side-profile view, indicating informal handheld filming by a companion.

What appears in frame

A dark-haired man in a light blue t-shirt crouches then stands while aiming a rifle across a grassy field; dense conifer and deciduous trees form the background under warm summer daylight.

Film character

Warm 8mm color stock with visible grain, intermittent orange-shift color flare in upper-left portions of early frames, mild exposure drift, and slight desaturation typical of scanned original home-movie film.

Edit role

Functions as a short insert or cutaway in sequences on mid-century American leisure or outdoor culture; the 5-second duration suits a single illustrative beat rather than sustained coverage.

Historical context

Recreational rifle shooting and informal target practice were common subjects in private home-movie filming in 1960s suburban America; the open rural setting suggests a private field or informal shooting spot.

Research note

An adult male is visible in profile throughout; likeness identification cannot be ruled out depending on production context and jurisdiction — clearance beyond copyright should be verified before broadcast use.
