Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Serves documentary or educational productions researching 1960s American leisure, recreational firearms culture, or postwar suburban hobbies in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Period detail: The man's horizontal-stripe casual t-shirt and dark slacks are consistent with early-to-mid 1960s leisure wear; the circular bullseye target and open gravel shooting lane suggest an informal outdoor range.
Home-movie behavior: A friend or family member filmed a companion at what appears to be a casual shooting outing, capturing a quiet moment of concentration rather than any staged performance.
What appears in frame: Man in striped short-sleeve shirt seated on gravel, long-barreled firearm raised to aiming position, circular bullseye target on a stand in background, open grass field, gravel shooting surface, and visible film grain.
Film character: The first two frames carry warm natural 8mm color with visible grain; the latter two shift to a strong amber-orange cast consistent with dye-coupler fade in unrestored color reversal stock.
Edit role: Works as a brief insert or cutaway in sequences about mid-century American hobbies, recreational gun culture, or suburban leisure, or as a memory-beat within a personal-history documentary.
Historical context: Recreational target shooting at informal outdoor ranges was a common family and community leisure activity in 1960s America; this clip reflects that everyday sporting context rather than a professional or military setting.
Research note: The shooter's face is partially visible in profile; likeness clearance should be assessed against intended use, as the subject is unidentified and no release documentation accompanies archival home-movie footage.
Research search match: Researchers seeking 1960s American recreational shooting, home movie target practice, Mid-Atlantic leisure footage, or postwar hobby film may find this clip relevant.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other clips from the same reel or Camden, NJ provenance; then with 1960s New Jersey outdoor activity footage; then with period hobby clips showing rifles, targets, or casual recreation.
