Camden New Jersey USA-1964: Man Shooting Rifle At Target In Grass Field

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fits 1960s Americana documentary requests covering recreational shooting, mid-century leisure, and everyday suburban life in the northeastern United States.

Period detail

The horizontal-striped short-sleeve shirt, dark trousers, and informal outdoor range setup are consistent with early-to-mid 1960s casual recreational dress.

Home-movie behavior

Filmed from close range by what appears to be a companion, capturing an informal shooting hobby as an ordinary leisure activity rather than a staged or competitive event.

What appears in frame

Adult man in striped shirt seated on dirt, rifle raised to shoulder, circular bullseye targets on stands, bright green grassy field, gravel-dirt shooting area, natural daylight, dark sprocket-edge borders.

Film character

Warm color saturation, slight dye drift visible at the frame edge in one shot, visible grain, and hard sprocket-shadow borders give this footage its characteristic 8mm home-movie texture.

Edit role

Works as a leisure-activity insert or cutaway in 1960s Americana sequences, or as a memory beat within a mid-century suburban daily-life arc.

Historical context

Recreational target shooting at informal outdoor ranges was a widely practiced family hobby in early-1960s America, often recorded as casual leisure rather than as competition or sport.

Research note

An adult male face is visible in profile across all frames; editorial use may warrant additional review depending on jurisdiction and context. No logos, brands, or private interiors are visible.
