Classic Chevrolet Bel Air Parked Near Flooded Water With... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1961, this vintage home movie captures a flooded landscape in Wauconda, Illinois. A weathered wooden post stands in murky water, with a classic 1961 Chevrolet Bel Air parked nearby on a wet, gravelly shore. The car's cream and brown two-tone paint and chrome details are visible, along with its Illinois license plate reading 309 310. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Illinois home-movie requests needing flood conditions, roadside water, or a parked mid-century car as documentary B-roll.
Period detail: The two-tone Chevrolet Bel Air, chrome trim, black Illinois plate, and 8mm color stock support an early 1960s period reading.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes a wet shoreline and parked family car without staging, preserving a brief local record of high water conditions.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include flooded water, a wooden post, bare shoreline brush, wet gravel, a cream-and-brown Chevrolet, chrome bumpers, and an Illinois plate.
Film character: The clip has 8mm grain, soft focus, dark frame edges, uneven exposure, and slight contact-sheet jitter that mark it as physical home-movie footage.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short cutaway for flooding, small-town Americana, car culture, or a memory beat between broader location scenes.
Historical context: The footage visually connects a private automobile with a flooded lakeside or shoreline setting in Wauconda, without identifying a specific event.
Research note: No people are visible, but the Chevrolet badge and license plate are identifiable, so brand, copyright, and privacy review may still be needed.
Research search match: Search fits include 1961 Wauconda Illinois flood footage, 8mm home movie flooded shoreline, and classic Chevrolet Bel Air near water.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then other Wauconda 1961 scenes, then broader 1960s flooding, lakeside, or classic car footage.
