Woman Walking To Classic Chevrolet Car — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1961, this vintage home movie captures a classic cream and brown Chevrolet parked on a wet street in Wauconda, Illinois. A woman in a dark coat and skirt walks toward the car, her red shoes visible as she approaches the rear. The footage features the car's distinctive chrome bumper and tail fins, with a license plate reading 309 310. The grainy, slightly faded quality and dark vignette are characteristic of Super 8 home movies from the early 1960s, evoking a strong sense of Americana and nostalgia.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports requests for early 1960s Midwestern home-movie footage of everyday car use, pedestrian movement, and period street atmosphere for documentary or museum edits.
Period detail: The tail fins, chrome bumper, dark license plate, wet pavement, and clothing may show late-1950s to early-1960s American automotive and street details.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual, unstaged moment of a woman walking toward a parked car while the camera observes from a close home-movie angle.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a cream-and-brown Chevrolet rear, chrome bumper, tail fins, Illinois-style plate, wet street, bare trees, dark coat, skirt, and red shoes.
Film character: The 8mm scan has visible grain, soft focus, slight color fading, dark edge vignetting, and handheld framing that signal physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, or memory beat for 1960s suburban travel, family errands, or classic-car context.
Historical context: The clip places a person and automobile in an everyday Wauconda street setting, giving social context through dress, car styling, and weathered pavement.
Research note: People and a recognizable Chevrolet car are visible, so likeness, trademark, and contextual use should be reviewed separately from film copyright status.
Research search match: Useful search phrases include 1961 Wauconda Illinois 8mm car, woman walking to classic Chevrolet, wet street home movie, and early 1960s Americana footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1961 Wauconda material, then related classic-car, walking, street, or family-errand footage.
