Lynbrook New York-1976: Lake Dock With House And Classic Cars

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Fills 1970s American suburban summer sequences needing authentic residential lakefront B-roll; useful for docs on mid-century Long Island life, nostalgia reels, or any project requiring genuine period home-movie atmosphere.

Period detail

Multiple parked vehicles along the shoreline in frames 0 and 1 appear to be early-to-mid 1970s American automobiles, consistent with the stated 1976 date; sparse deciduous trees may indicate early or late season.

Home-movie behavior

The slow pan across a familiar waterfront neighborhood, unhurried and unstaged, suggests a local filming their own backyard lake rather than a tourist attraction, giving the footage an intimate domestic quality rare in licensed archives.

What appears in frame

Calm lake with rippled surface, flat wooden dock extending into the water, white single-story and two-story residential houses, grassy lawns, parked 1970s-era cars, bare deciduous tree, and a figure visible in the water in the final frame.

Film character

A strong blue-cyan color shift dominates all four frames, characteristic of aged 8mm dye fade, alongside visible film grain and soft focus that confirm the footage's physical-film provenance.

Edit role

Serves as an establishing wide shot for a lakefront scene, a contemplative memory beat within a 1970s summer montage, or a slow-dissolve transition bridging outdoor and domestic sequences.

Historical context

Lynbrook is a Long Island village; waterfront residential lots with private docks were common to the area's mid-century suburban development, though the specific body of water is not identifiable from these frames alone.

Research note

A person appears swimming in at least one frame; likeness rights and residential property rights require independent clearance; copyright ownership should be verified with the submitting party before editorial or commercial use.
