A young boy in red swim trunks runs across a grassy lawn near a lake in Lynbrook, New York, in 1976. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures a sun-drenched summer day with people swimming, floating on rafts, and relaxing by the water. A large tree frames the scene, and a small boat rests on the shore. The grainy, color-bleached quality of the Super 8 home movie evokes strong nostalgia for 1970s family vacations and backyard leisure.
