Shot on 8mm film in 1971, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched backyard scene in Lynbrook, New York. The footage opens on a grassy yard with a distant house, then focuses on a green and white striped patio umbrella. A wooden table and chairs sit on the lawn, followed by a view of a swimming pool with a metal ladder. The clip concludes with a close-up of the pool's edge and water, evoking a nostalgic summer day. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s U.S. home-movie requests needing a suburban summer backyard pool cutaway or domestic leisure insert.
Period detail: The striped patio umbrella, simple outdoor table and chairs, and above-ground pool area may show early-1970s residential summer recreation.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged family-film perspective, lingering on yard details and poolside surfaces rather than posed activity.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a grassy lawn, distant house, striped patio umbrella, wooden table and chairs, pool ladder, pool edge, and water.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that preserve the physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a memory beat, summer transition, suburban backyard insert, or poolside atmosphere cutaway.
Historical context: The clip reflects ordinary residential leisure in a Lynbrook, New York backyard without supporting broader claims about the neighborhood or family.
Research note: No people, logos, or music are evident in the sampled frames, but copyright and any property-related permissions should be reviewed separately.
Research search match: Search phrases might include 1971 8mm backyard pool, Lynbrook New York home movie, 1970s suburban summer yard, and vintage poolside footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Lynbrook 1971 material, then broader 1970s summer backyard or pool scenes.
