Boy Slides Down Pool Slide Into Water — Clip Details

A young boy in swim trunks slides down a backyard pool slide on a sunny summer day in 1971, captured on vintage 8mm film. He lands with a splash in the turquoise water while a man in swimwear stands nearby under a green and white striped umbrella. The footage shows the boy resurfacing, smiling, and swimming in the pool, with a grassy yard and patio furniture visible in the background. The grainy, color-bleached quality and film edge borders evoke authentic 1970s home movie nostalgia.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful 1970s 8mm home-movie pool footage for documentaries, education projects, or memory sequences about suburban summer recreation.
Period detail: The backyard pool, slide, swim trunks, striped umbrella, lawn furniture, and faded color may show early 1970s family leisure in Lynbrook, New York.
Home-movie behavior: The clip captures unstaged pool play as a swimmer slides into the water, resurfaces, smiles, and moves through the backyard pool.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a turquoise pool, pale slide, swimmer in dark trunks, pool ladder, striped umbrella, grass, patio furniture, and splashing water.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, gate edges, slight color fading, and handheld framing that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a summer memory insert, family recreation cutaway, transition between backyard scenes, or brief nostalgic splash beat.
Historical context: The scene reflects domestic outdoor recreation and informal filming of pool activity, without supporting broader claims beyond family leisure.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or music are apparent, and copyright status is separate from clearance.
Research search match: Searches such as 1970s 8mm backyard pool slide, Lynbrook New York home movie swimming, and vintage family pool footage may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring shots from the same reel, then other Lynbrook 1971 family scenes, then broader 1970s summer pool footage.
