Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1950s home-movie requests for pool or summer leisure inserts where soft, non-identifying swimming imagery is needed.
Period detail: The metadata places the footage in Yonkers, New York in 1953, while the frames mainly show teal water, soft color, and 8mm home-movie handling rather than specific era objects.
Home-movie behavior: The value is an unstaged family-film view of movement in water, with the swimmer rendered as soft shape and motion rather than a clearly identifiable subject.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include pale blue-green pool water, blurred swimmer shapes, dark frame borders, a central film-strip divider, dust specks, scratches, and uneven exposure.
Film character: The scan carries 8mm texture through soft focus, teal-pink color shift, visible grain, dust, scratches, and slight exposure variation across the frames.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief memory beat, summer-water cutaway, transition, or atmospheric insert within a mid-century family-life sequence.
Historical context: The clip suggests ordinary mid-century recreation through home-movie pool footage, but the frames do not show identifiable facilities, landmarks, or social details beyond swimming.
Research note: No faces, logos, or private property are discernible in these frames, but likeness, copyright, and location context should still be reviewed against the source reel and license.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1950s 8mm swimming pool home movie, Yonkers summer pool footage, vintage family swimming, and soft-focus archival water insert.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1953 Yonkers material, then broader 1950s family recreation or swimming-pool footage.
