Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful 1950s home-movie footage for productions needing everyday recreation, swimming, or suburban leisure material from Yonkers, New York.
Period detail: The swim cap, dark one-piece swimwear, bright outdoor pool, and 8mm color rendering may show mid-century recreational style without identifiable landmarks.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has unstaged home-movie value in its simple observation of a swimmer doing laps rather than performing for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimmer in a white cap, dark swimwear, blue pool water, splashes, pool edging, and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The scan carries 8mm texture with visible grain, blue color shift, slight exposure variation, scratches, and contact-sheet frame divisions.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, summer recreation cutaway, memory beat, or transition within a sequence about leisure or athletic routine.
Historical context: The footage places swimming and private outdoor recreation within a domestic mid-century setting, based on the poolside activity shown.
Research note: People are visible, including a partial face, so likeness review may be needed in addition to copyright and any location or property assessment.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1950s 8mm swimmer, white swim cap pool laps, Yonkers home movie swimming, and mid-century backyard pool footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then with other Yonkers or 1953 home movies, then with related swimming, summer, pool, and recreation clips.
