Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s home-movie requests needing a brief swimming-pool childhood recreation or summer leisure insert.
Period detail: The footage may show mid-century pool recreation, with era supported by the 1953 Yonkers metadata rather than visible landmarks.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer moves naturally across the pool while the camera stays close to the water, giving the clip an unstaged family-film feel.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimmer in a purple suit, blue pool water, splashing surface highlights, wet dark hair, limbs underwater, and 8mm frame borders.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft grain, mild color fading, blue-green water tones, exposure shimmer, and visible frame edges that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short childhood summer insert, memory beat, recreation cutaway, or transition within a family or leisure sequence.
Historical context: The clip visually documents informal pool play and swimming instruction or practice in a domestic home-movie style, without identifiable public context.
Research note: People are visible and a likely minor appears onscreen, so likeness and child-use review may be needed separate from any copyright assessment.
Research search match: Searches such as 1950s 8mm girl swimming pool, Yonkers home movie swimmer, child dog paddle pool footage, and vintage summer pool clip may match.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel pool footage, then other Yonkers or 1953 home movies, then broader 1950s swimming and summer family scenes.
