Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s home-movie pool footage for productions needing youth swimming, summer recreation, or amateur athletic activity in Yonkers, New York.
Period detail: The scene may show mid-century recreational swim practice, with simple swim trunks, an outdoor pool setting, and color 8mm home-movie rendering.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer appears focused on the butterfly stroke while the camera observes brief splashing movement from poolside or above the water.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimmer in blue trunks, teal pool water, arm recovery motion, splash patterns, dark frame edges, and contact-sheet divisions.
Film character: The 8mm scan has coarse grain, soft focus, teal-blue color shift, visible gate edges, and uneven exposure that give it physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, cutaway, or memory beat for summer recreation, swim training, youth athletics, or family leisure.
Historical context: The footage situates swimming as everyday leisure or practice in a mid-century suburban home-movie context without identifying a specific event.
Research note: People are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, and copyright clearance remains separate from personal rights checks.

Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then Yonkers or 1953 material, then broader 1950s swimming, pool, or youth recreation clips.
