Woman Underwater with Air Tube in Spring — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1952, this vintage home movie captures a woman underwater in a clear spring or grotto, wearing a light-colored swimsuit. She holds an air tube to her mouth, breathing as fish swim around her. The scene is bathed in blue and green hues, with sunlight filtering through the water and illuminating aquatic plants. Her dark hair floats freely as she smiles at the camera, creating a nostalgic and serene underwater moment. The footage shows natural film grain and slight color fading typical of 1950s Super 8 home movies.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1950s Florida color 8mm footage for productions needing underwater recreation, spring swimming, or vintage leisure inserts with a visible adult woman.
Period detail: The light swimsuit, handheld 8mm framing, and saturated blue-green color may show mid-century tourist or home-movie underwater filming in a Florida spring setting.
Home-movie behavior: The woman appears comfortable and playful, looking toward the camera while using an air tube as fish pass through the frame.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include an adult woman in swimwear, a breathing tube, clear spring water, fish, aquatic plants, sunlight, and black film-frame borders.
Film character: The clip has soft 8mm color, visible grain, slight fading, underwater blur, and contact-print framing that give it strong physical-film texture.
Edit role: Editors could use it as a brief underwater insert, leisure cutaway, memory beat, or transition within stories about Florida springs, swimming, tourism, or 1950s recreation.
Historical context: The footage visually suggests recreational underwater filming at a clear spring, with an adult swimmer interacting with the camera rather than a staged commercial scene.
Research note: An adult face is visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate from personal rights.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1952 Florida 8mm underwater swimmer, woman breathing through air tube, vintage spring recreation, and fish in clear water home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Florida 1952 spring or swimming footage, then broader 1950s underwater recreation scenes.
