Female Swimmer Takes Air From Oxygen Tube And Paddles — Clip Details

A young woman in a vintage swimsuit swims underwater in a natural spring or clear lake, captured on 8mm film in 1952. She holds an oxygen tube, taking breaths as she paddles through the water, her hair floating around her. Bubbles rise to the surface as she moves gracefully beneath the green-tinged water. The footage shows natural light filtering through, with visible film grain and color shifts typical of 1950s home movies. This authentic archival clip offers a nostalgic glimpse into mid-century leisure and underwater recreation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s Florida home-movie requests involving underwater recreation, women swimmers, natural springs, and mid-century leisure inserts.
Period detail: The clip shows a woman in a vintage swimsuit using a breathing tube underwater, with the 8mm color stock and metadata-supported 1952 Florida setting placing it in early 1950s recreation.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer appears unstaged and playful as she takes air from the tube, paddles, turns, and floats through the clear water for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a female swimmer, pale one-piece swimsuit, breathing tube, bubbles, green underwater plants, rocky spring bottom, bright sunlit water, and contact-sheet frame borders.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm color, green-blue water shifts, heavy exposure bloom on skin, visible grain, and handheld framing that gives it a mid-century home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, memory beat, or cutaway for mid-century swimming, Florida springs, amateur underwater filming, or recreational diving sequences.
Historical context: The scene reflects home-movie documentation of leisure swimming and underwater recreation without establishing a named spring, equipment brand, or organized diving event.
Research note: A visible adult woman may require likeness review, while copyright, location, and any equipment permissions should be assessed separately because no clearance is guaranteed by the imagery.
Research search match: Searches such as 1950s Florida underwater swimming, 8mm woman swimmer oxygen tube, vintage swimsuit spring diving, and home movie scuba recreation may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then with Florida 1952 water recreation footage, then with broader 1950s swimming, springs, diving, and vacation home movies.
